  • Remove sway bar and replace links. Road test vehicle 10 miles confirming clunking noise is no longer present. Vibration is still present and while had vehicle in the air did go ahead and spin driveshaft to 60 mph finding vibration to seem to be coming from rear of transmission. Found what seems to be an excessive amount of play at rear driveshaft, removed driveshaft and inspected you joints confirming no faults at this time and checked torque on rear shaft nut confirming to be tight. Recommending to have drive shaft balanced to eliminate it being possibility. Highly suspect output shaft of transmission to be cause of vibration.
  • Brake Inspection. – Recommending to perform brake flush due to contamination. Front and rear brake pads due to pad life. Front and rear rotors for good measure. Notes for Road Test – Road test vehicle found no brake pulsation or pull at this time is a vibration that we've been chasing. Brake Fluid Notes- brake fluid is contaminated recommend performing flush.

  • Removed and replaced oil filter, drain the oil and refilled with 7.7 quarts of 5w 20 full synthetic oil with added BG MOA. Added oil change sticker for 5000 miles at and reset maintenance light.
  • Verified customer concern of vehicle running rough at idle. Performed vehicle pre scan, found no current ECU codes stored at time of testing. Viewed live data and verified bank 2 O2 sensors are reading lean. Inspected for possible vacuum leaks using throttle body cleaner while monitoring O2 sensor data and found no fluctuation in idle or O2 sensor, verifying no external vacuum leaks present at time of testing. Removed air cleaner and verified air filter is clean. Removed air cleaner duct and found throttle body build up, see picture for details. Performed throttle body clean and verified idle quality has improved, recommend performing air induction service. See added line for Air induction service. Re road tested vehicle and monitored live data, during road test found vehicle had slight stumble at stop light, performed relative compression test and verified no abnormal compression issues noted at time of testing, during testing found engines idle dropped to 300 RPM and SEL lit, Scanned code and found P0022-00 -"A" Camshaft position timing _ over-retarded (Bank 2) – Pending DTC, P0315-00 – Crankshaft position variation not learned – Current DTC – Warning lamp on. Attempted to ;perform crank variation relearn, and was un able to due to the current state of the solenoid fault, see lamp scope wave form confirming interm sticking VCT solenoid. Recommending replacing both Bank 2 VCT intake and exhaust VCT's with necessary gaskets to reseal Bank 2 Valve cover.
  • Performed BG air induction service.
  • Replace bank 2 VCT solenoids, found sludge buildup on both solenoids and valve cover, cleaned, installed new VTC solenoid and performed oil change service (See LOF service line). Cleared codes and monitored live data, found slight inconsistencies with exhaust Bank 1 and Bank 2 VCT solenoid readings, performed misfire monitor neutral profile correction due to misfires on cylinder 1 and 6. Monitor live data and verified slight stumble intermittently now currently on cylinder number 3 which is bank 1. Viewed live data and verified a 10 degree difference between Bank 1 VCT and Bank 2 VCT exhaust solenoid, recommending replacing Bank 1 intake and exhaust VCT's in order to prevent customer return for rough idle. Final Tech Notes : No code returned, can feel slight stumble at idle when vehicle is at operating temperature, recommend replacing Bank 1 VCT solenoid to help customer return for rough idle at times.
