  • Lifted up vehicle and started to drain oil. Once I was done draining tightened down drain plug and lower vehicle filled up with 5 quarts of 0W 20 full synthetic motor oil with a can of BG MOA then removed oil filter and replaced then started vehicle and checked oil level wrote new sticker vehicle has maintenance reminder, so I set the proper date and mileage for reminder for oil, filter and oil.
  • Performed Premiun BG ATF flush.
  • Replace spark plugs had to lift motor up to reach driver side, spark plugs replaced air filter and cabin air filter. Road tested vehicle 10 miles and no misfire occurred after installing new spark plugs.
  • Check brake fluid for moisture and contamination. Inspect all hydraulic line and hoses. Inspect calipers and wheel cylinders. Inspect master cylinder and cap. Flush entire brake system including master cylinder, calipers, wheel cylinders until clean.

  • When using stethoscope while vehicle is running, listen to alternator and confirm that alternator is making a loud noise. Tested alternator at 2000 RPMs and alternator was putting out 80 AMPS, tested battery and found that battery was rated for 750 cold cranking amps and tested at 100 cold cranking amps, recommending replacing battery ( alt is getting over worked due to bad battery) . Also noticed that AC belt tensioner bearing has seized and caused belt to go missing and found remains of AC serpentine belt all over front of engine.
  • General Inspection – Priority List – Priority One 1. Replace battery and alternator 2. Replace belt, tensioner and AC compressor belt. 3. Brake inspection 4. Brake flush Priority Two 1. Replace headlight housing and low beam headlight on passenger side. 2. Replace engine oil 3. Replace passenger side strut Priority Three 1. Rotate tires Inspection Findings – Exterior Body – Recommend body shop for repairs Lights (Head, Brake, Turn) – Passenger side low beam is out, head light also has moisture in it recommend to replace head light housing and low beam bulb Engine Oil – Oil is worn recommend to change oil and oil filter and add BG MOA for better MPG and engine life Brake Fluid – Brake fluid is corrosive recommend BG brake flush Washer Fluid – Topped off washer fluid Belts (Engine, accessory, serpentine, V-drive) – When inspecting belt I found that second serpentine belt was missing, I found that belt tensioner bearing seized and locked up pulley and disintegrated belt off and destroyed pulley. Battery Condition – Battery tested at 100 CCA due to alternator not charging battery while driving, possible cause of alternators going back twice is that battery has been bad for a while and is overworking alternator recommending to replace battery and alternator. Brakes (Pads/Shoes) – Front brake pads look low and rears have drums recommend break inspection Shocks / Struts – Passenger side strut is blown recommend replacing Under vehicle fluid leaks. – Timing belt and heads have been replaced recently By time and / or mileage. – OEM recommendations based by mileage 1. Replace brake fluid 2. Replace engine oil and filter 3. Rotate tires
  • Replaced alternator and battery performed battery terminal service when installing new battery and re tested alternator amps to verify charging system tested with in spec's. Adjusted belt to spec's, road tested to verify repairs.

  • Performed oil change service, drain and refilled engine assembly, installed new oil drain plug gasket, installed new subaru OEM filter, refilled engine assembly with recommended engine oil and a can of BG MOA, verified oil level correct and no leaks.
  • Test drove vehicle and found no brake concerns. Removed, cleaned/lubed and inspected all four wheel braking components. Inspected entire system for leaks. Found front brake pads were at 8mm and rear were at 6mm, no need for brake pads at this time. Front & rear rotors are in good condition, at this time. No issues noticed on brake lines, Calipers are functioning as designed with no issues. Rotated Tires.
  • General Inspection – Priority List – UPDATE: Customer authorized Air & cabin Filters. Removed & replaced both filters per request. Priority One 1. Replace air filter, 2. Replace cabin air filter, 3. Replace front windshield. Priority Two 1. Ignition tune up, 2. BG Air induction service. Priority Three 1. Replace shocks and struts by mileage. 2. Brake fluid service. Windshield / Glass – windshield is cracked suggest glass shop Engine Oil – time for oil change by sticker (will perform today) Spark Plugs / Wires – suggest a tune-up by mileage Brakes (Pads/Shoes) – 8mm front 6mm rear Shocks / Struts – suggest replacing by mileage, but no visual signs of concern.

Recommend inspection By time and / or mileage. – Recommended to replace atf fluid and brake fluid.
  • Reinstalled drain plug with new gasket. Removed and replaced filter. Installed 5qt of 0w20 with one can of BG MOA. Confirmed oil level is correct and no leaks are present. Stickered vehicle for 5000 miles.
  • Raised vehicle and rotated wheels at 25 MPH, verified noise at driver side rear wheel bearing assembly, recommending replacing and retesting for any additional wear items. As for the passenger side knock type noise, inspected control arm bushing along with steering and suspension components, found slightly bushing worn but not bad at this time. Lower vehicle and tested steering with full weight of vehicle and found slight noise in passenger side strut mount assembly but inconsistent.

  • drained and refilled with 4.4 quarts 5W30 synthetic blend, replaced oil filter, installed new sticker set for 3000 miles at 245,042, current odometer is at 242,042, verified oil level is full, during oil change found oil was extremely metallic, recommend to replace engine.
  • SEL is most likely on due the lost of engine oil, causing issues with valvetrain system that relies on good clean oil pressure. See notes on oil change line.
  • Recommending converting system back to factory and retest for any additional faults.

  • Performed idle test and verified rattling noise on acceleration. Raised vehicle to inspect, found broken exhaust heat shield clamp and found an installed hose clamp in its place. Removed hanging exhaust clamp and road tested vehicle. Verified rattling noise is gone but slight growling noise noted during vehicle road test. Raised vehicle again and found exhaust muffler compacted with ice, removed ice and re tested verifying a reduction in growling noise. Advise customer to return if noise returns or continues, would recommend inspecting again on a day that is clearer.

  • Scanned vehicle for ECU codes, no stored codes at time of scanning, road tested vehicle and verified hesitation 1 time. During road test found MAF sensor reading were a little high, inspected MAF sensor for restriction or debris, did not find any issues, cleaned MAF sensor and re road tested.
  • General Inspection – Priority List – Priority One 1 brake inspection 2 diag horn Priority Two 1 diag tpms with tire shop Wheel weight…… all weights seem to be present. Huge build up of mud dirt and snow I. Rear tires will clear all debris Inspection Findings – SEL- Code list – One tpms code Other – Horn doesn’t work suggest diag Brakes (Pads/Shoes) – Rear pads look low recommend inspection Tire pressure & condition – Set to 35 psi.
  • Reinstalled drain plug with new gasket. Lowered vehicle and w placed oil filter. Filled engine with 5.1 qt of 0w20 w one can of MOA. Confirmed no leaks and fluid level correct. Stickered vehicle for 5000 miles
  • Removed which is now number two ignition coil and replaced it with new. Road tested vehicle 15 miles confirming misfire and customer's concern of hesitation is no longer present.
