Recommend to clear all codes and reevaluate after test drive. Oil Life %: according to oil change sticker, vehicle is 7000 mi over Engine Oil: engine oil is about half quart low and extremely black. Antifreeze/Coolant: recommend replacing thermostat and possibly radiator cap and retesting.
    • Remove thermostat; tested thermostat found not opening till 245°. Replaced thermostat and new radiator cap, refilled coolant. Test drove vehicle 10 MI and confirmed heater and air conditioning functioning. Cleared all codes no codes have returned at this time. Verified coolant level in am, test drove vehicle 10 more miles to verify repairs.
    • Replaced oil filter.
    • Upon inspection, found coolant to be a gallon and a half low. Pressure tested coolant system, found no signs of leaks, pressure only dropped 2 lb overnight. Suspect faulty radiator cap. Unable to test cap at this time. Topped off coolant, found system not circulating, causing an overheating condition. Expect thermostat to be stuck closed. Tested and confirmed Air conditioning is blowing at 49° at the vents, but heater is not blowing hot, most likely do to thermostat issue. Need to replace thermostat, retest radiator cap and recheck heater function after repair.
